Congratulations to Hannah

Congratulations to Hannah Curtis who was accepted into the 2019-2020 Simpson Youth Academy. Rev Eric Rucker, Simpson College Chaplain spoke at FUMC in September, 2018 inviting our students to apply. It is a spiritual growth and leadership training event that goes for a year. We are delighted for Hannah and proud of her accomplishments!

Paid In Full

Youth Quake 2019

The annual Youth Quake in Des Moines had the theme “Diverge” in 2019. Youth and adults enjoyed the Christian music, speakers and fellowship over the weekend.

Israel Trip

Twenty-three went to Israel in January 2019 with Pastor Julie as the tour leader. They traveled with Educational Opportunities and had a wonderful educational and inspirational 10 days.

Christmas Cantata

Chancel Choir shared an uplifting cantata on Dec 9 during worship filled with familiar carols and Christmas songs. Bonnie Orris and Danille Curtis led the special music.

Christmas Musical

Christmas Program and Christmas Musical “We Three Spies” presented by the children and youth on Dec 12 & 16. Jenny Wills, Music Director led the 2nd-8th graders in the production of “We Three Spies.”

Mission Recognition Pins

Roger Koppen, Robert Hemping and Marilyn Lawton were given Special Mission Recognition pins for their outstanding service to God and the Church by the United Methodist Women.
