Deb Blackburn announces retirement

Debra Blackburn announces that she will retire at the end of May, 2020. Deb has served for 30 years as the administrative assistant at FUMC. Job description and applications are available in the church office. Start date May 4, 2020.

Change vs. Transition: Leading Through Change

Workshop, Feb 9, noon-3 pm. Rev Dr Jaye Johnson, Des Moines, leading the workshop on “Change VS Transition” at FUMC. It is said that no one likes change, however it is not change they have a problem with rather it is getting used to the new way that causes struggles. In this session we will look at how personal leadership style impact how people deal with change, talk about the difference between change and transition, and look at some tools for leading through change. Everyone welcome.

Rev. Dr. Jaye Johnson is the Director of Congregational Excellence for the Iowa Annual Conference. He works with the bishop and district superintendents as a member of the cabinet and is responsible for preparing churches to multiply. He is playing a key role in the formation of circuits across the conference.

Younique study

Women’s Group studying YOUNIQUE book Tuesday evenings. Parents of Confirmands studying it on Sundays at 9 am. A third class using it on Wednesdays during Crazy 4 Christ. Everyone welcome. DVD and discussion.

Midwest Mission Celebration

We welcome Chantel Corrie from Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Pawnee, Illinois Feb 16 at FUMC. She is Executive Director at MMDC. Danille and Kent Curtis, Hannah and Grace spent time working as volunteers at MMDC last summer and got excited about ways we can help. Come to learn more about the great mission work…

Celebrating Baptism

Congratulations to the Abate family! Kora was baptized on Dec 24, 2 years from her sister’s baptism. Praise God! Grandparents look on and celebrate the holy moment.

Christmas Program 2019

Sunday School, Crazy 4 Christ, Youth Group and the Youth Choir shared music, video, skits and action songs in honor of Christ’s birth on Dec 15 to a full house of God. Many thanks to Karen Shannon and Jenny Wills and the Sunday School teachers for leading this fun and inspirational hour of worship.
